Blackstone Tabletop Griddle. For a while, we have been doing our van cooking on a simple single burner butane stove. We made this work, but it is mainly just to supplement when cooking on a camp grill.
We recently stumbled upon this unique Portable Propane Tabletop Griddle from Blackstone, and I tell you what, this thing is awesome! Keep reading to see our thoughts on the…
Blackstone Tabletop Griddle Review
The Blackstone Gas 17” Tabletop Griddle is the smallest griddle in the Blackstone lineup, slightly smaller than its two-burner 22” sibling. This small size in no way hinders this griddle’s ability to cook up a storm. You name it, and this little beast can more than likely cook it.
When The Bacon Sizzles
No more crowding a frypan trying to cook bacon! Now we can cook a whole pack in one go!
Blackstone Tabletop Griddle – First Impressions
After opening up the box to pry my eyes on the shining stainless steel front before placing it on the table. I was thrown by the size. The 17-inch model is bigger than I had imagined. Hopefully, I can still find a convenient place to store it in the van.
Propane Hookup
The Blackstone Tabletop Griddle comes standard to fit the small one-pound propane cylinders. You can, however, get a hose and regulator to fit 20-pound bottles via the Blackstone website. I think I will order this for next season.
Seasoning The Griddle Plate
Before you can cook, you have to season the plate, which is basically burning a layer of oil onto the metal creating a stick-resistant cooking surface.
But How Does It Cook?
Like a Boss! The plate heats quick, and the H style burner gives nice even heat distribution. Morning fry ups are so easy, and food for four or more can easily be done in one go. The thick 10 gauge griddle plate sears portions of meat to create that tasty golden-brown crust everyone loves. And no more crowding a frypan trying to cook bacon! Now we can cook a whole pack in one go!
