So now the van is here I have to find some time to make all my planned modifications. To make the surface soft and prevent any dents while in the initial stages I picked up a Ram ProMaster Vanrug from Bedrug. So far the back of the new van has just been used as a playpen for my two young boys. The Vanrug is very comfortable to lay down on. This may well be where the kids sleep on our first few camping trips.
The install was so easy, just unroll and you are done. Let’s take a look at just how easy it was to install our new……..
Ram ProMaster Vanrug
What is Vanrug?
The Bedrug Vanrug is a custom foam-backed cargo mat. Designed to insulate against noise and heat, a Vanrug could be the easiest way to install an insulated flooring in your new van conversion.
Bedrug Vanrug Shipping
The Vanrug ships in a rather large box, but the box is light and easily moved. Shipping was quick and delivered to my door in a few days.
Installing the Ram ProMaster Vanrug.
Total installation time for our Ram ProMaster Bedrug Vanrug was a little over 30 minutes. And this includes the baby wrangling the one-year-old and disagreements with my five-year-old.
Vanrug Pre-Cut To Fit
Although the Ram ProMaster Vanrug is precut to fit it does have some slight gaps behind the wheel wells. That section of the van is slightly wider, so I assume Bedrug left the gap to keep product costs down. I’m good with this.
Verdict
The convenience and ease of installation for the Vanrug are great, for this reason, I love this product. Time will tell how I like it as use and abuse starts to factor in. Check back for a long-term review sometime in the future.
I ordered my Vanrug from TDot Performance. They are available on Amazon for other models of van but I could not find the Promaster. Check it out for your self here.

This looks like the way to go with the Promaster I’m in the process of buying. It will be used primarily as a work truck, Do items in the back slide around while driving? I wouldn’t want my toolboxes and equipment shifting all over the place. Also, do you find that it dampens road noise and softens the acoustics? That would be a big plus. Thanks!

Hi there Skwow,
Items do stay put fairly well on the Vanrug, although I would still tie down any heavy items. Nothing worse than your toolbox toppling over on a sharp bend and all your tools going everywhere.
As for sound, I would say yes, it does help with noise coming from the floor. My plan is to use Noico to deaden the wheel wells, walls and roof.
Thanks,
Ben
