Unless you want the windows and walls of your van to rain condensation like a tropical depression. Then good ventilation will be a key thing to consider when building out your van. The Maxxair Fan and Fantastic Fan are two great options to consider.
A new Maxxair fan for our Weekender Van Live Ram Promaster Conversionarrived in the mail this week. I am excited to show everyone what is in the box. Also, I will give my initial opinion and review on what I have read is the number one choice for RV Ventilation.
Maxxair Fan MAXXFAN Deluxe Product Unboxing Initial Review
The Airxcel MaxxAir 00-05100K sells on Amazon for $207.00. This is the middle of the road option in the MaxxFan Deluxe lineup. Fan-Tastic Vent offers some competition to the Airxcel fans. The Fan-Tastic Vent 2250 sells on Amazon for $219.84. The features available on these cheaper models are great but I decided to go with the fully featured model from Airxcel. The MaxxAir 00-07500K MaxxFan Deluxe with Remote. This one sells for a little extra at $325.58.
Some of the MaxxAir 00-07500K MaxxFan Deluxe features include:
- Powerful 10-speed intake and exhaust fan.
- Thermostat to control room temperature.
- Provides over 900 CFM to keep you cool and comfortable.
- Fits all standard 14″ x 14″ roof openings.
- Open and close the vent lid by simply rotating the knob, push the knob up to lock in place.
- Electric lid opening with remote control.
I love the remote option. This will be mounted in the house panel with all the heating controls and electrical monitors. Also, being able to operate the fan in the rain as well as in the closed position will be very useful.
The fan cowling is made of transparent plastic. This will be nice to let in more light. The fan does ship with some hardware for mounting and electrical.
Also below you can see the manual controls to adjust fan speed and open the hood. As well as a manual temp setting.
Overall this is a great looking fan. Everything I have read about this fan reassures me of my decision to install this in my van when it arrives.
